Case study · LIDL Germany

Making retail-owned brands feel premium at scale.

Pixel&Co transformed CAD files and reference photography into high-detail digital twins for LIDL brands including Parkside, Silvercrest and Ernesto, creating a high-end, consistent visual standard for catalogs and every retail channel that followed.

The challenge

Quality products
needed visuals to match.

Retail-owned brands are often perceived as generic, even when the products are strong. LIDL's brands covered a wide range of products and frequent retail cycles, and needed higher-quality visuals to change that perception. Photography could produce individual images, but it was difficult to scale while maintaining the same level of quality, detail and consistency across every product and channel.

The system

From reference material to reusable digital twins.

Using only CAD files and reference photography supplied by LIDL, Pixel&Co reconstructed each product without having the physical item on hand.

01

Reconstruct every product

Accurate geometry, materials, finishes and construction details recreated in 3D.

02

Establish the visual standard

Approved lighting, cameras and material treatments applied consistently across brands and categories.

03

Generate every output

Catalog images, animation, lifestyle scenes, advertising and interactive models created from the same source.

The result

Greater control over detail and consistency than the previous photography-dependent workflow, without requiring physical access to the products.

Across categories

Built for very different products. Held to one visual standard.

From tools and appliances to kitchenware, automotive accessories, personal care and home products, the same workflow adapted to different materials, features and technical requirements.

Many products.
One reusable standard.
Documented scale

From 8 to 150 products. Same system, same standard.

Across four documented production phases, the range grew almost 20x. Every new product entered the same reusable pipeline, allowing image, animation and turntable output to grow with it.

Across the retail experience

One approved digital twin.
Every point of sale.

What began with catalog renders became a reusable content source for the entire retail journey.

01

Higher visual quality

Materials, features and construction details made easier to see.

02

Consistent output

The same approved product representation across every touchpoint.

03

Built for reuse
